Accidents at work -
Adequate training
Many thousands of people are injured in the workplace every day.
Despite huge strides made during the last few decades in improving
safety, accidents at work are all too common.
Here we deal with the training requirements that employers must
comply with.

An
employer is under a primary duty to avoid the need for employees to
undertake any operations which involve a risk of suffering injury.
The
employer must also undertake specific assessments of
operations which involve risk of injury.
Where there a risk of industrial injury it is necessary for the employer
to consider what equipment or plant can be used to replace manual
work.
Employers are also required to reduce the risk of industrial injury by
providing employees with proper training, instruction and
supervision and if personal injury is suffered as a result of the
employer failing in this duty - then compensation may be payable to
any injured worker.
In
summary the failure of an employer to carry out the provisions
will mean that an they are liable to pay compensation for any
personal injury sustained by an employee.
