Pedestrian accident compensation
Most people will have at some point in their lives have had a close
call crossing a road or even walking along a pavement. Its easy for
a pedestrian to make a misjudgement and cause an accident and it can be very dangerous if you are not paying attention.
You
can also never legislate for an individual driving dangerously.
Accidents involving pedestrians are common place and account for
more than 23,000 casualties every year on Britain's roads.

If you drive a vehicle
on the road there is a heavy burden to carry. You owe other road
users including pedestrians - a duty of care. If you do not drive in
a reasonable manner and you injure another road user in an accident then inevitably
you will be considered negligent in English Law.
It may not be as black
and white as that but there is no doubt that if a driver collides
with a pedestrian he may well have some difficulty in defending himself
if an accident claim is made against him.
Children - even
teenagers and the elderly are particularly vulnerable and account
for a large number of the casualty statistics.
So what if you have
suffered personal injury in a pedestrian accident - what do you do next?
If you feel that you have been the victim of bad driving even in
circumstances where you may have contributed to the accident - you
may be entitled to compensation.
