Physiotherapy treatment
This
section of our compensation website discusses physiotherapy
and other forms of treatment.
Therapy helps recovery and forms a vital part of the process
that we adopt when dealing with your accident claim.

Physiotherapy - is it
necessary?
Many injuries do not require physio or similar treatment to enable
the individual to recover fully. Simple fractures, soft tissue
injuries such as bruises or strains very often will heal by
themselves and within a reasonable timeframe. Your doctor will make
the decision about whether treatment is required.
More serious
fractures will generally need differing forms of treatment to help
the healing process. Less serious but sometimes equally obtrusive
injuries such as whiplash or neck strains can benefit tremendously
from physio.
There is a
great misconception about whiplash related problems. Most people
think that whiplash symptoms are minor and usually exaggerated. In
our experience they can be the most difficult injuries to resolve
and very often can leave an individual with severe long standing
disabilities particularly if they are not treated properly.
Early
medical intervention particularly physiotherapy, can make a huge
difference in helping an individual make a satisfactory recovery
from personal injury. Most experts will agree that the earlier you
opt for physio the better, but even chronic or long standing
symptoms can be improved with such treatment.
It must
be stressed that you should only arrange physiotherapy or similar
treatment following a doctors recommendation. Always seek an
appropriate medical opinion.
As part of
our claims process we will send you to see a medical expert who will
provide you with a full assessment and discuss the treatment options
available.
